Aug.3, 2010 Drive to Colorado

Today we spent most of our time driving. We did stop a few times along the way for some very pretty views of the canyons going through Utah. It is really interesting to see all of the different colors of rock; black, red, grey and white. We went through some areas that were quite rugged and had lots of sharp angles, then some areas that were very smooth and sandy. We stopped for lunch at a Mexican restaurant along the way. It was our plan to pull into Glenwood Canyon Ressort in Colorado before dark, but of course that didn’t happen. Sonic for dinner was a “priority” (Cherry Limeade) so we had to stop! Getting set up here in the dark was a challenge. There were only back in sites, very narrow and lined with boulders. We had to unhook the car, and find our spot. This is a very pretty camp, nestled in the trees and rugged mountains. We have two nights here, so we’ll have a chance to catch up and relax.

  1. Great photos! And I love that Sonic was a priority. You've got to have priorities, and cherry limeade sounds like a good one to me.
