Dec 9 - around San Antonio

After a great pancake breakfast, we headed into town to see the Buckhorn Saloon and Museum. This Saloon was built in 1881 and looks the same as it always has. Inside, and on two floors, is a collection of tack representing hundreds of years, and a world record wildlife collection (over 520 species)!

Right next door to the Saloon is the Texas Ranger Museum. Authentic Ranger artifacts and pictures told of the world's most famous law enforcement agency. There was also a recreation of Old San Antonio which was almost like being there! A very nicely done museum!

We then went to La Villita, a very quaint block of Artisan shops and restaurants. We did some shopping, and had lunch at "Guadalajara Grill", were I had the best Quesadillas ever! One shop we went into was a small factory that made scented wax melts. They had about 50 or so different scents, and you could mix and match your own creations. We had a lot of fun boxing up our favorites!

Next stop - The County Line for some Texas Bar-B-Q! Seems like that is about all we do is eat, but you just can't help it here!! Too many great choices!

Tomorrow we are headed for our next nights stay in Las Cruces. From there it is on to Silver City!

  1. Hey, wasn't Silver City the finish line for the race in Rat Race? Hehehe.
