Rain in Tennesse, Arkansas and Missouri!!

Apparently it has been raining in these parts for several weeks non-stop.  We drove past a high school football field, and all that you could see were the top half of the goal posts!  We were driving in the rain all the way from Memphis, TN, through Arkansas, and into Missouri.

After we left Portageville, it was a long drive north, so we didn't stop for too long anywhere.  But, we made sure that our route took us far enough north so that we could drive through downtown St. Louis.  We wanted to show Lindsey the Arch.  We also saw some row houses that were quite interesting.  They were made of brick and very square.  They all had front porches with several steps down to the sidewalk.  The rain turned the brick a deep red that stood out from the intensely green trees all around.  It was like a picture post card :)

This is where our trip took a sharp turn to the west.  We traveled all the way across Missouri and stopped for the night just outside of Kansas City, MO.

Tomorrow's journey is a bit shorter, so we hope to be able to "stop and smell the roses".

  1. I went to a conference in Kansas City, MO, once, but I only saw the arch from the plane when I departed.
