On the road again! My Mom and sister, Barb joined us for this trip. We decided to head to Nevada to see some of the towns that were instrumental in the shaping of the state by virtue of their “rich” mining histories.

As we made our way to Carson City, we were enjoying the beautiful drive through the pines, redwoods, spruce and aspen when we met up with a man at a vista point lookout. He asked where we were headed, and we told him Carson City. His eyes widened and he said, “Are you going over the pass in that? Towing a car? Well, I’ve seen people do crazier things! Go slow.” As we made our way through the Ebbitts Pass, it was clear that we couldn’t do anything but go slow! The road was hardly big enough for one way traffic no less two way! It was a little scary, but BEAUTIFUL!!!!! After almost two hours, we began to drop from 9000ft to about 5000ft as we came into Carson City. It was amazing how much the terrain changed! We are now in desert scrub on beautiful rolling mountains. You can see the towering mountains in the background that we went through to get here, still with patches of snow. We pulled into our campsite around 7:30pm and then went to Johnny Rockets for dinner.
